This project came to me as 2 developers and a PPT sketch of the first screen. I was the only designer for over 2 years as we built from the ground up to address the smaller scale manufacturing industry’s lack of advanced analytics and health monitoring. The goal was to create a machine-focused application that provided teams with clear visibility into machine performance during and between jobs, reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency.
I designed a customizable scoring system to identify machines and methods that require attention based job timeline and costs. This system integrated multiple performance metrics and gave easy paths to drill in to detailed machine and job data. We build several custom data visualizations to detect anomalies and make predictions.
Challenges included the lack of comparable software for reference, rapid branching ideation to test new ideas, and as the project grew - there were many unique feature requests to fit in to the solution.
